About the role
We are seeking a experienced Workday Functional Lead to join our dynamic Technology department in Manchester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for in the successful implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of our Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and Financial Management systems. What you'll do
- Lead the functional design, configuration, and implementation of Workday HCM and Financials modules.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into Workday solutions.
- Develop and maintain Workday integrations with other systems, ensuring data integrity and seamless data flow.
- Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for Workday issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective resolutions.
- Conduct system testing, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure system functionality and data accuracy.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, test plans, and user guides.
- Deliver training to end-users on Workday functionality and new features.
- Stay current with Workday releases and new features, evaluating their applicability and recommending adoption where beneficial.
- Participate in Workday governance processes, including security audits and data privacy compliance.
- Support change management activities related to Workday implementations and enhancements.
- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on Workday best practices.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure timely delivery of Workday projects within scope and budget.
Required skills
Workday HCM implementation experience (Core HR, Benefits, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence Management)Workday Financials implementation experience (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Expenses, Procurement)Proficiency in Workday reporting and analytics (Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Dashboards)Strong understanding of Workday security concepts and configuration.Experience with Workday integrations (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors)Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proven experience in leading functional teams on Workday projects.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
